For Immediate Release
The wait is over for fans who have longed for the return of A-Mod racing to Central Missouri Speedway (CMS). The return of the division comes via the Heartland Modified Tour (HMT), which will be part of the 25th Annual Tom Wilson Memorial special events over the Independence Day weekend on Friday and Saturday.
In its second year of operations, the 2025 tour has been dominated by Kansas driver Tanner Mullins, who has no less than six victories in six starts. Mullins has an A-Mod special event victory at CMS in his history at the track. However, according to the HMT website at www.heartlandmodifiedtour.com, a fellow pair of Kansas drivers lead the tour standings with Brandon Givens ahead of Tad Davis.
CMS A-Mod fans may recognize some of the other touring drivers who have started events with HMT this season. This list includes Shadren Turner, Dustin Hodges, Jason Pursley, Paden Phillips, Dean Wille, Randal Schiffelbein, and Mickey Burrell. A-Mods were last part of the weekly program at CMS during the 2021 season with Gunner Martin being the last track champion in the class. Note, mention of driver name does not guarantee race appearance.
Visiting drivers are reminded that assigned parking for HMT drivers will be along the east-facing tree line in the pit area and the adjacent corners at each end of the tree and fence line. Other visiting drivers should also respect the reserved stalls throughout the pit areas that are marked with posts and numbers. There are a few reserved stalls near the southeast corner of the tree line area, clearly marked with reserved posts, these spots should not be used by HMT or other visiting drivers.
Action begins Friday, July 4th as the 25th Annual Tom Wilson Memorial, an event honoring the speedway’s long-time announcer and publicist, who played a pivotal role in A-Mod history at the track. Along with the HMT, Pure Stocks will compete in their annual “track special,” gunning for a $1,000-to-win special event. Super Stocks will also be in action. Pure Stocks and Super Stocks will compete for track points and POWRi national points for the Super Stocks. Following the night’s action, the track will have its first of two fireworks displays to close out the night.
For Pure Stocks on Friday, there is an entry fee of $50 if the driver has raced at least twice at CMS prior to this event, and $65 if driver does not meet that criteria. The fee included entry and pit pass for the driver. Pure Stock Payout: 1) $1000, 2) $600, 3) $500, 4) $400, 5) $300, 6) $250, 7) $200, 8) $175, 9) $150, 10) $150, 11) $150, 12) $150, 13) $150, 14) $130, 15) $125, 16) $120, 17) $115, 18) $110, 19) $100, 20) $100, 21) $100, 22) $100, 23) $100, 24) $100. Other support classes throughout the weekend will compete for normal points and purse money.
