For Immediate Release
Sixty-Eight cars signed in for competition on a tricky Mother Nature evening at Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) on Saturday night. Just when cars were hitting the track for pre-race packing, a rain shower came through with the sun shining in the background. Several drivers stayed out to help save the track and once the rain stopped the track crew hit the track to bring back the surface.
After a short delay, calls were once again made to the drivers to return to the track and within minutes the speedway was ready for competition. There were 68 cars signed in, which included 26 Super Stocks on hand for the Eighth Annual Super Stock Showdown, 13 B-Mods, 17 Pure Stocks, and 12 Midwest Mods.
Fans witnessed 11 heat races and five main events on the evening, which despite the delayed start, were all completed by 10:20 pm and before any more moisture fell on the track. When all was said and done, Terry Schultz captured the $2,500-to-Win Super Stock Showdown with Tim Karrick claiming the B-Mod victory, Chase Galvan picked up another Pure Stock win with David Wood also adding to his wins tally in the Midwest Mod division. Complete results follow.

Next Saturday, August 2 marks the annual Kid’s Night at the races. Event organizer Ashley Walls has established an Amazon.com wish list, which will make it easier on drivers, fans, and businesses who would like to make donations. Kid’s Night is always one of the most anticipated nights of the year as the event honors young race fans 12 and under and gives them a chance to compete in foot races on the track in girls and boys divisions.
