Central Missouri Speedway honored its 2025 track champions during the post-race Hog Roast party last weekend after racing concluded with two former champions and two new champions claiming the spotlight. All statistics by track statistician Glyda Jaeger.

 

Blaine Ewing of Green Ridge, Missouri, secured his second POWRi Super Stock CMS Track Championship. Ewing also claimed the 2022 championship in the division. Throughout the season Ewing and runner-up Dave Meyer were the only two drivers to compete in all 14 track points-earning nights. Ewing drove to 9 heat race and 5 feature victories. His final margin of victory over Meyer for the championship was 22 points.

 

Meyer claimed two victories on his way to second in the standings. Ted Welschmeyer, Bobby Ruff, and Cory Flamm rounded out the top five in the final Super Stock rundown. Throughout the year, 25 different drivers claimed heat race wins while nine different drivers claimed feature race victories, which included Tony Anglin (1), Aaron Poe (2), Ewing (5), Terry Schultz (1), Meyer (2), Kyle Davis (1), Derek Brown (2), Johnny Fennewald (1), and Derek Henson (1). There were 48 drivers appearing throughout the year on the final Super Stock standings.

In B-Mod action, veteran Basehor, Kansas driver Tim Karrick claimed his third overall CMS track title. Karrick was also the 2019 Modified and 2024 B-Mod points champion. Karrick, runner-up Stephen Clancy, Anthony Tanner, Colin Pierce, and Kenny Prince competed in all 14 of the designated track points-earning nights throughout the season. Karrick claimed three feature victories along the way and 7 heat race wins. Karrick’s final margin of victory over Clancy was 72 points.

 

Clancy drove to four feature race victories on the year, more than any other B-Mod driver and claimed 6 heat race wins. All total, 18 drivers took heat race checkered flags while 8 different winners claimed feature wins, including Karrick (3), Jon Sheets (1), Clancy (4), Ryan Edde (1), Cole Campbell (2), Colson Kirk (1), Chad Clancy (3), and Brad Smith (1). A total of 57 drivers appear on the final B-Mod rundown for 2025.

The battle for the Pure Stock championship came down to wire with first-time Champion David Doelz of Warsaw, Missouri, claiming the title by a mere seven points over Kansas driver Chase Galvan. Doelz, Larry Draek, Devin Baker, and Kristina Wyatt competed in all 13 designated track points-earning nights with Galvan competing in 12 nights. On his way to the championship, Doelz did not secure a feature win but did claim five heat race victories and eight top five finishes.

 

Galvan drove to nine feature race wins, the most among any driver in any class at CMS in 2025, and 10 heat race wins in route to his runner-up finish. Throughout the year, 15 drivers claimed heat race victories while six different drivers collected feature race wins, including Galvan (9), Andrew Roark (1), Preston McDowell (1), Payton McDowell (1), Donnie Devers (1), and Derek Lampe (10. There were 41 drivers on the final points rundown for 2025 in the Pure Stocks.

Another new champion in 2025 came from the POWRi Midwest Mods division as David Wood of Rayville collected the championship by just nine points over Alex Schultz. During his championship run, Wood drove to seven heat race wins and tied with Schultz with the most division feature wins with five on the year. The margin of victory likely came down to Wood collecting 13 top five finishes compared to Schutz’s 12 top five finishes. 

 

Schultz dazzled throughout the year as the spirited teenager also claimed 7 heat race wins to tie with Wood and Brian Meyer in the heat race victory column. Wood and Schultz were the only two drivers to compete in all 13 designated points-earning nights. There were 12 different drivers who claimed heat race victories on the season while seven drivers celebrated feature wins, this list included Dakota Girard (1), Brian Meyer (1), Logan Roark (1), Schultz (5), Jamie Aleshire (1), Pete Richardson (1) and Wood (5). There were 48 drivers listed on the final Midwest Mods standings for the season.

In guest class and special event action, winners included the following drivers. For the IMCA RaceSaver 305 Sprint Cars, there were 6 different feature winners in six events, which included Randy Martin, Jake Greenwood, Monty Ferriera, Alan Cunningham, Kenny Potter, and Jack Thomas. Sawyer Crigler (2) and Dustin Atkinson collected the wins in the three 4-State Dirt Late Model Series main events. Tad Pospisil was victorious in the lone SLMR Late Model appearance while Aaron Marrant was awarded the victory in the Revival Dirt Late Model Series race. Owen Evinger took the checkers in the lone appearance by the Show-Me Vintage Racers as Shadren Turner and Dustin Hodges collected wins in the two appearances by the Heartland Modified Tour.

 

The average car counts this season were as follows:  16 POWRi Midwest Mods, 15 Pure Stocks, 17 B-Mods, and 19 Super Stocks. Guest class averages were as follows:  14 IMCA RaceSaver 305 Sprint Cars, 20 SLMR Late Models, 18 Four-State Dirt Late Model Series, 19 Show-Me Vintage Racers, 32 Heartland Modified Tour Modifieds, 21 Revival Dirt Late Model Series. Overall, the track averaged 76 cars per night, across 16 nights of racing. There were three events cancelled due to inclement weather. A total of 258 races were completed throughout the year, including 182 heat races, four B-Mains, and 72 Features.

 

CMS wishes to congratulate each championship driver on their achievements in 2025 and for etching their name in the history books as the final CMS champions under the ownership and promotions of Earl and Susan Walls. We would also like to thank the 194 drivers who took part in our weekly events and to all the special events and guest-class drivers who competed this season.
