Central Missouri Speedway Statistics Over Time!

Central Missouri Speedway

September 23, 2025

By Sam Stoecklin

For Immediate Release

This press release is not a standard release from Central Missouri Speedway (CMS). Instead, it has purposefully been written in the manor of storytelling rather than a PR format.

Sadly, this is the last release under the realm of Central Missouri Speedway as we have known it since 1994, when Earl and Susan Walls took over sole ownership and promotions of the speedway. Although there are 10 years of existence prior to 1994 of the speedway, the following information originates from the years of 1994 to 2025.

If and when the track sells, an official announcement will be made, but until then, enjoy this trip down memory lane to close out an incredible run for CMS, courtesy of 30-plus year track statistician, Glyda Jaeger, and her labor of statistical love.

From 1994 through 2025, CMS scheduled 708 race nights. Of those 613 nights of racing took place with 96 rained out events. There were 1,007 feature events held. The total car count was 49,524. The largest number of drivers competing in one season was 338 in 20`8 with the lowest being 177 in 1998.

Drivers from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming (25 states) have competed at CMS over time along with drivers from Canada.

There were 120 drivers who raced 10 or more seasons from 1994 to 2025. A total of 80 different drivers earned Track Championship honors at the track with Terry Schultz also leading this category with seven, followed by John Brooks with six, and Jacob Ebert and Richard Layne with five. There were 2,442 different drivers who competed in “weekly” points races over the years.

There were 395 different regular race winners during this time along with 98 guest class winners. Aaron Marrant had the most guest class victories at the track with eight total.

The highest average car count per year was 1995, when the track averaged an incredible. 104 cars. During the 2000 years, the highest was 2007 with 94 cars. The 2010’s year highest was 2018 with 92 cars while the highest in the 2020’s years was 2020 with 93 cars. The highest single night car count was recorded in 2019 with 140 cars while the lowest was 39 in 2004. These statistics do not include Friday and Sunday night programs from the 90’s.

The most race nights in a single year occurred in 1997 with 25 nights of racing. The least races held occurred in 2021 with 15 races held. The most rainouts in one year happened during the 2021 season when 8 races were cancelled due to weather. The year with the most weekly race classes was six in 1995. It has been an honor to serve as public relations, webmaster, scheduler, and official at CMS. As a PR Guy, Glyda’s statistics served as the backbone for every press release I authored from 2004 to 2025, thank you Glyda. To all the CMS faithful, until our paths may cross again, thank you and take good care.
