WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Feb. 13, 2026)—Bob King is the new owner of Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) in Warrensburg, Missouri.
He officially took over the facility following the retirement of long-time owners Earl and Susan Walls, who managed the track for 31 years before placing it up for sale in May 2025. The Walls family concluded their tenure with the Hog Roast Nationals in September 2025, marking the end of their era that began in 1994.
King is an experienced figure in the racing industry with a vision for the track that includes several strategic updates to modernize and expand its operations. For instance, King has shifted the track to a dual-night format, introducing Friday night racing alongside the traditional Saturday events.
King’s background in the sport and his immediate moves to increase the frequency of races have been met with early enthusiasm from the local racing community.
For the first time in the track's history, the Modified division will be ssanctioned by the United States Racing Association (USRA) as part of the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. USRA Modified competitors will be eligible for track, regional and national points, which carry a lucrative plethora of cash and contingency awards at the end of the year.
The track is also a featured stop on the USRA Heartland Modified Tour, with a major event scheduled for Friday, October 23, when CMS will host Championship Weekend for the popular USRA Modified series. You can every lap LIVE at RacinDirt.
King has implemented updated rules for various classes (B-Bods, Midwest Mods, and E-Mods) to ensure a fair playing field. This includes allowing B-Mods to run under multiple rule sets (POWRi, USRA or previous CMS rules) to encourage higher car counts.
